There’s one company Australians really want to penetrate with their minds and talents – aviation’s very own Virgin Australia.
The carrier was named Australia’s Most Attractive Employer in this year’s Randstad Awards, knocking competitor Qantas into second place for the second consecutive year.
Around 51.34 percent of Aussies claimed they wanted to work for the aviation giant, only slightly ahead of the 51.30 percent that said they wanted to work at Qantas.
Oooooo tight numbers there. The Virgin Australia team probably saw the figures like:
Randstad Australia and New Zealand CEO, Frank Ribuot, said Virgin clearly has a winning formula “as one in every two people in the country know the Virgin brand, love it and would love to work there”.
“This is a very powerful asset to own.”

The aviation industry overall landed the top spot as the most attractive industries, with around 46 percent of Aussies saying they’d like to work for an aviation company.
“Aviation is perceived by workers, both in Australia and around the world, as a sector that offers many attractive attributes.”

“It leads in training, interesting job content and its working atmosphere.
“The sector is also rated highly for strong management, work-life balance, being environmentally and socially aware, as well as for offering career progression opportunities and excellent salary and employee benefits.
“It is perceived to have more attractive attributes than any other sector.”
For those of us in the travel industry, we’re apparently living the dream, because around 84 percent of those researched said they’d consider travelling for work as an added value to their job, while 55 percent said they’d like to have a job that requires them to travel internationally.
On that note, that would be one of the reasons why Flight Centre scraped in on the list, as the 20th most attractive employer.
