Budget Singapore carrier Scoot has just revealed it will be launching thrice weekly flights to Laos from April, with crazy cheap fares out of Australia going live today.
The new flights on board Scoot’s A320 will operate on Monday, Thursday and Saturday in a circular routing, departing from Singapore for Luang Prabang, followed by Vientiane, before heading back to Singapore.
If that wasn’t exciting enough already, Scoot’s new route launch fare sale starts TODAY at 10am with hot deals on offer until Tuesday January 22.
Fly from Perth (via Singapore) to Luang Prabang and Vientiane from a laughable $189, $199 from Gold Coast, and $209 from Sydney and Melbourne, (Fly fare, with bags and food extra) per way, and this includes all taxes.
These fares are for travel before October 26, 2019.
Scoot has timed its launch flight for April 1, just in time for an arrival for Lao New Year – or as the locals know it – Pi Mai.
This two day celebration at the hottest time of the year is a fun, water drenched festival, that sees locals and tourists battle it out with water pistols, buckets of cooling water and hoses, cups and bottles.
Scoot CEO Lee Lik Hsin said he was “thrilled” to welcome Laos to their network.
“We are confident that the addition of Vientiane and Luang Prabang will boost Scoot’s proposition as a network carrier offering refreshing travel opportunities for those seeking authentic experiences off the beaten track.”

Luang Prabang is UNESCO protected, lush historic town, encircled by the Phou Thao and Phou Nang mountains.
Vientiane, on the other hand, has a rich history with French influences seen in alfresco cafes, riverside restaurants and architecture.
