A new exotic, luxury camping experience has arrived in Oman thanks to a collaboration between Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara and travel specialist, Oman Expeditions.
The new expeditions throughout the country’s Dhofar province can be set anywhere from wild, pristine beaches and magnificent mountain plateaus to towering dunes in the world’s largest sand desert.
Travelling via luxury 4×4 vehicles, a sample itinerary would include two nights camping with three days of exciting activities.
Tailored itineraries will include trekking with camels and members of the Mahrah tribe along ancient frankincense trading routes.
Optional special interest trips accompanied by expert guides are also available with a focus on marine life, astrology, botany or ornithology.

After the day’s excursions, guests retire to the comfort of a luxury camp made up of semi-permanent structures.
Each tent has a private tented bathroom with showers open to the skies, comfortable mattresses, cotton sheets, Arabian rugs, candles and oil lamps.
The chefs prepare Middle Eastern, North African and Mediterranean dishes onsite using local ingredients. The meals can be enjoyed outside under the starts.
