ATAC chooses Air Tickets as sole consolidator in new 3-year partnership

The Australian Travel Agents Co-operative (ATAC) has appointed Air Tickets as its exclusive air consolidator, a move set to take effect on 1 January 2025. This three-year partnership follows ATAC’s evaluation of market options to determine the most advantageous consolidation services for its members.

The Australian Travel Agents Co-operative (ATAC) has appointed Air Tickets as its exclusive air consolidator, a move set to take effect on 1 January 2025. This three-year partnership follows ATAC’s evaluation of market options to determine the most advantageous consolidation services for its members.

In a sector where margins are increasingly squeezed, ATAC’s choice of Air Tickets aligns with a forward-thinking vision focused on driving real returns for travel professionals.

“ATAC has ambitious growth plans, and it was essential to partner with an air consolidator that shares our forward-looking vision,” ATAC Chairman Jack Taylor said.

With the switch to Air Tickets, members can anticipate “greater returns on their efforts,” underscoring the new partnership’s commitment to business growth, he added.

Air Tickets is an established airline consolidator, providing a range of ticketing and airfare distribution services to travel agents across Australia, New Zealand, and other international markets. Operating under Helloworld Travel Limited, Air Tickets offers access to domestic and international fares from more than 154 airlines, supported by service teams based in major Australian capital cities and Auckland. Its platform is designed to streamline ticketing processes and improve the efficiency of fare distribution through its proprietary SmartSuite technology, including the award-winning SmartRefunds system, which facilitates refund management for agents.

ATAC has tapped Air Tickets as its exclusive air consolidator, effective January 2025.

“We’re thrilled to be appointed as ATAC’s consolidator of choice, and our team is ready to ensure a seamless transition for all members.” Rohan Moss, Group General Manager Consolidation at Air Tickets, said.

“ATAC is a remarkable buying group with a strong track record of success, and we look forward to supporting their growth from 2025 onwards.

“In addition to the value for ATAC members, the Air Tickets SmartSuite of products, including the 2024 NTIA Winner for Innovation, SmartRefunds, was a compelling contributor to selecting Air Tickets due to the efficiency for consultants that our tech stack delivers.”

ATAC introduced the partnership to its members during a national briefing on 31 October. Detailed transition plans are being communicated to members to facilitate a smooth onboarding process.
