The Guided Outer Reef Snorkelling Tour in Port Douglas took out the number-one spot in both the Australia and South Pacific top 10 experiences, according to the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for the Best of the Best Things to Do for 2022 worldwide.
Western Australia’s Margaret River Wine Adventure and Buccaneer Explorer also made the 10 top travel experiences list for Australia and the South Pacific alongside the Aquascene Magnetic Island Discovery Tour in Queensland.
Queensland was well-represented in the top 10 list of things to do in Australia with five entries, including the 40-Minute Great Barrier Reef Scenic Flight from Cairns, Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast Jet Boat Ride and Gold Coast Tandem Skydive.
Rounding out the Australia top 10 list are Kangaroo Island Quad Bike (ATV) Tours, Maria Island Cruise and Guided Walk Day Tour with Lunch and Drinks and the Great Ocean Road Reverse Itinerary Boutique Tour.
Adventurous outdoor activities and water-based tours also made waves on the list of top 10 experiences in the South Pacific.
Tripadvisor travellers rated Ziplining Forest Adventure – The Original Canopy Tour Rotorua, Akaroa Dolphins – Harbour Nature Cruise and the Premium Milford Sound Small Group Tour, Cruise & Picnic Lunch in New Zealand and Bora Bora’s Reef Discovery Half Day Group Signature Tour and Morning Snorkelling Shared Boat Tour as their top choices.
The Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Things to Do Awards is based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings of experiences, tours, attractions and activities on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period from 1 May 2021 to 30 April 2022.
