Back to Bali: Air NZ restarts direct Auckland–Denpasar flights after 3 years

Air New Zealand will connect Auckland and Bali directly for the first time in three years when it resumes non-stop services between the two destinations today. Bali is one of the carrier’s most popular routes and will start with thrice-weekly seasonal services.

Flight NZ64 takes off from Auckland at 12pm on 29 March and will be one of three weekly non-stop Air NZ flights to Bali Denpasar until the seasonal service wraps up for the year on 27 October 2023.

The 787-9 Dreamliner service will increase to five times a week during the busy winter and school holiday period between 26 June and 30 July.

Virgin Australia also debuted its first Gold Coast-Denpasar direct service today.

Air New Zealand Chief Customer and Sales Officer Leanne Geraghty said the airline flew 17,000 passengers to Denpasar in 2019 and revealed almost 10,000 seats were sold in the first week that the resumption of Bali flights was announced.

“It’s fantastic to be back flying non-stop services to Bali and we’re thrilled to be able to help connect New Zealanders to this holiday hotspot once again.”

“This is the last of our international and seasonal routes to get up and running again post-COVID, so this certainly shows we are bouncing back.”

July is the most popular month for Bali holidaymakers, with 8,500 customers booked to travel as holidaymakers look to escape winter for the school holidays. June and April are also very popular months.

Air NZ Bali flights will depart Auckland on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 11am, touching down at Denpasar at 4:20pm.
