Windstar Cruises will homeport in Australia & New Zealand for the first time & it’s doing so with a freshly renovated cruise ship that’ll cater to Aussies who like a mix of intimacy & luxury.

The boutique cruise line’s Star Breeze will sail Down Under for the 2020/21 season, where she’ll operate on the line’s first immersive itineraries for Australia and New Zealand.

John Delaney, Windstar Cruises’ President, said sailing to a completely different region creates an opportunity for the brand to further its global footprint and offer a new product for guests “seeking out new places to explore”.

“Australia and New Zealand cruises will allow us to present these destinations in the most authentic way possible.”

Star Breeze will cruise around Australia and New Zealand from November 2020 to February 2021. During that period, she’ll cruise on six itineraries, two of which will sail between Auckland and Sydney.

Each trip will take in classic locations like Melbourne as well as smaller, less visited ports such as Phillip Island. They’ll also feature unique experiences including a high-speed Catamaran cruise to Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays and overnight stays.

There’ll also be sailing to destinations like Cairns and visits to see iconic sites such as the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney Opera House and more.

“Our cruises in Australia will deliver both the wild and sophisticated sides, exploring remote reaches like Middle Percy Island, as well as offering an overnight in cosmopolitan Sydney with time to see the famous sites there.”

Melissa Witsoe, Windstar Cruises Product Manager

Prior to her season Down Under, the 312-passenger Star Breeze will undergo a comprehensive renovation that’ll see her fitted with a new pool and a surrounded deck area.

She’ll also debut two new dining venues for a total of five, as well as a redesigned world-class spa and fitness centre.

Fifty new suites will be fitted on board, giving Agents more rooms to sell, as well as a three-bedroom Grand Owner’s Suite described as “ideal for family travel”.

While cruising around Australia, Windstar Cruises will serve guests dishes made by James Beard-affiliated chefs and including locally-sourced ingredients from farmers, fishermen and more.
