AirAsia X Group Chief Executive, Nadda Buranasiri, believes the 25,000 annual seats from Bangkok to Brisbane will be well received among travellers, especially when taking into consideration the popularity of the airline’s Gold Coast operations, which have carried more than two million passengers in 12 years.

In a statement earlier this year, Buranasiri said that in addition to increasing traffice, the new route will provide Queenslanders with low-cost options to 130 destination in the AirAsia netowrk via Bangkok.

Brisbane Airport’s Chief Executive, Gert-Jan de Graaff, was equally as excited for the new flights, describing it as a “prudent” move.

“Thailand is an aspirational destination for Australians and one of Brisbane Airport’s largest underserved markets, so AirAsia’s quality low fare flight options direct into the heart of Bangkok is sure to be very popular with travellers.”

Gert-Jan de Graaff, Brisbane Airport Chief Executive

Flight XJ310 out of Bangkok departs at 11.40pm on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday to arrive in Brisbane the following day at 11.35am. The return flight XJ311 departs at 12.50pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday to touch down in Thailand at 7.10pm.
