International holiday-starved Queenslanders can enjoy quarantine-free trips to Fiji again from 23 January, with Fiji Airways being the only airline announcing the resumption of commercial flights between Brisbane and Fiji for the first time since March 2020.

Fiji Airways has announced it will be the first airline to resume commercial flights from Brisbane to Fiji from Sunday 23 January, with the first flight since March 2020.

From there, the national carrier of Fiji will operate up to five flights per week from Brisbane to Nadi until March 2022, changing to daily flights from April onwards.

“Fiji Airways will be the first, and currently only airline, to recommence commercial flights between Brisbane and Fiji in nearly two years,” explains Fiji Airways Managing Director & CEO Andre Viljoen.

“We are so excited to finally welcome our friends from Queensland back on board our state of the art aircraft and safely transport them to a well-deserved holiday in Fijian paradise.

“The safety of our guests and crew will always be our highest priority. Our entire workforce is fully vaccinated and we have implemented an award-winning Travel Ready programme dedicated to the safety and wellness of our guests and staff.

“We have medically-qualified Customer Wellness Champions onboard every international flight to offer medical guidance and assistance if required.

“We are the only airline in the Australia-Pacific region to offer this service, as well as the only one in the region to achieve a Skytrax 5-Star COVID Safety rating and the highest Hospital Grade “Diamond” certification by APEX Health and Safety,” said Viljoen.
