The Intrepid Group liked the Kiwi market so much that its leaders did the tourism equivalent to ‘putting a ring on it’ – they opened a local office.
Intrepid committed to New Zealand with the opening of its new Auckland-based digs that shares some of the same cool characteristics as the Melbourne HQ.
Employees who previously operated out of Intrepid Travel’s retail front in Newmarket were moved into the new office late last week, where they were tasked with expanding the group’s presence in New Zealand (including Peregrine Adventures) and build on the group’s 25 percent annual growth.
Much like the space in Melbourne, the Auckland-based office has wallpaper dedicated to travel destinations such as Japan, Morocco and Malaysia…
The Kiwi office also has one of the original and rusted Intrepid signs, from the company’s early days almost 30 years ago, and the space utilises all recycled wood, made by a local Auckland craftsman…
Neat!
APAC Regional Director Brett Mitchell said the group is “proud” to be investing across the ditch and thanked all “Kiwi friends for believing in our style of travel”.
“Performance has been beyond expectations, with our trade partners taking us from strength to strength.”
