Last year we brought you the news that Wendy Wu Tours would be launching its very own river ship, and now we can reveal details of the new cruise-and-tour program centred around the four-star new build ship.

Set to launch in December, the $10 million, 35 cabin ship to be known as Victoria Mekong will set sail from the “much quieter” port of Can Tho Pier in Vietnam, rather than the traditional Mekong departure point of My Tho.

Victoria Mekong will star in four group tours capped at 18 people per group and two private tours.

The new group tours include the 14-day A Mekong Experience, the 17-day Classic Mekong, 22-day Mekong Explorer tour and the 23-day Inspiring Indochina tour.

The two private tours, on the other hand, include the 12-day Mekong Impressions and the 19-day Mekong Discovery.

Wendy Wu Tours global sales director John Warr said the Victoria Mekong was “a very exciting addition to our portfolio filling what is a huge gap in the market.”

“The ship has all the deluxe facilities of a 5-star standard ship with the price of a 4-star cruise offering the utmost in comfort for customers,” he said.

He said the trade reaction for the ship at ITB Berlin 2019 was very positive with strong interest from trade partners.

The itineraries are not yet for sale in Australia but we will be sure to update you as soon as they are.
