The future of travel is…  holograms at airports, ultra-long-haul flying, sustainable holidays, mobile passports,  but more importantly, it’s personalisation.

Being able to make minor adjustments to existing trips, add a special destination or create an itinerary with a trusted tour operator completely from scratch – that’s what travellers want and APT is helping Travel Agents give it to them.

The tour operator is the latest to expand its services with Tailor Made Journeys, with which travellers can create their own private luxury holiday filled with personal touches and experiences.

Initially, holidaymakers will be able to use APT to design holidays based on their preferred departure dates, locations, duration, modes of travel, hotels and sightseeing in Africa and South America.

For example, in Africa guests might want to add Morocco and Egypt to their itinerary by choosing to begin their journey aboard Rovos Rail before an extended stay in Cape Town and 4WD safaris through the heart of Kruger and Chobe national parks then fly north to finish with a cruise along Egypt’s Nile River.

Touching on the new product, APT’s Chief Executive, Steve Reynolds said Tailor Made Journeys were designed to give Agents and their clients a seamless personalised experience while retaining “all the benefits and quality of a scheduled APT trip”.
