What do you get when you put South African Tourism and G Adventures together? An incredible choose Your Own ‘G’ Adventures trip of a lifetime to South Africa.
This week the national tourism agency and the world’s largest small group adventure travel company are combining forces to send six Australian social-media influencers to South Africa.
It’s going to be “a trip with a difference” tailored to highlight the country’s reputation as an adventure playground. You see each influencer gives their audience complete control of what they get up to in the Rainbow Nation.
This could get interesting.
Using Instagram Polls, followers will have the power to vote on the exhilarating activity they most want them to participate in and by the next day, the influencers will find themselves at their next location, ready to take on the chosen activity.
The well-known influencers have a combined following of over 900,000 and include Brinkley Davies, Jorden Tually, ‘Polkadot Passport’, Melissa Findley and ‘KoTravellers’ Kate and Oliver, as well as Oliver’s own channel ‘fathomlesslife’.
The team of six will travel from Durban to Cape Town, camping at incredible locations such as Chintsa and Storms River along the way.
The troop will also visit the !Khwa ttu San Cultural Centre which is a ‘G for Good’ project, supported by their non-profit partner Planeterra and is an experience available to G Adventures travellers on selected South Africa tours.
G Adventures Director of Marketing for Australia and New Zealand, Louise Laing, said they were seeing strong growth in visits to South Africa and expect co-op activities like this will drive more interest in exploring this incredible destination”.
