National Geographic Expeditions and G Adventures have just unveiled a sizzling selection of new destinations and tours in Europe and South America.
From January 2019 they will be taking their small group tours to Bolivia to experience its stunning landscapes, including the famous Uyuni Salt Flats.
Also new in South America for 2019, is a tour of Peru ’s north where travellers can uncover cloud forests, hike a huge waterfall and peer back into pre-Incan times.
There will also be an extra combination tour of the northern Chachapoyas region, coupled with a visit to Machu Picchu by train.
In Europe, National Geographic Journeys builds on growing interest in Portugal with two new tours.
The first, focusing on Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto, celebrates the country’s rich food, wine and architecture.
The second combines one week in Portugal with another in Spain, adding the Moorish masterpiece of Alhambra with time for wandering through Seville.
In Europe’s East, a new tour in Hungary and Romania has its launch point in Budapest before moving on to Transylvania.
Interestingly, G Adventures reported that during the past year, the National Geographic Journeys trips have delivered the strongest growth of all its trip styles.
It was a 19% year-on-year increase among Australian and New Zealand travellers, and a 27% surge in booking sales compared to the year prior.
Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Italy and Morocco were the top four popular growth destinations booked by Journeys travellers from Australia and New Zealand.
