If over-planning a holiday isn’t really your thing and you’d prefer to let the travel gods guide you on your journey then you’re really going to appreciate Busabout’s expansion into North America.

The freestyle brand announced that it’s moving its buses into the USA and Canada last week, giving travellers the option of winging their way around the two countries.

For those unfamiliar with Busabout – the operator provides travellers with two travel styles, including ones that’s transportation only, which they can board at their pleasure. For example, if they’re visiting Rome and decide they want to spend an extra day in the city before moving onto Paris they can do so. In order to access the service, guests need to purchase a ‘pass’ prior to travel and then ‘Hop-on-Hop-off’ when they like.

Busabout’s West Coast Hop-on-Hop-off Pass includes eight destinations including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and South Lake Tahoe. Guests can also add visits to other cities such as Santa Barbara and San Diego or Yosemite National Park and Mammoth Lakes.

The other Busabout style is guided adventures, which is designed for travellers who want a little more guidance along. They can opt for one of the 11 three days-to-three weeks Busabout Adventures, which resemble more of a traditional tour with inclusions such as accommodation, daily breakfast, a guide and a coach driver.

The Busabout Adventures range from a 22-day West to East Road Trip, nine-day Southern Blues Adventures or a week-long Canada Rockies Adventures.

Brand Managing Director, Duncan Robertson, said the expansion from Europe, Asia and Africa into the USA and Canada is designed to bring more flexibility to travellers who want to visit “places they want, when they want”.
