Wendy Wu Tours is tapping into the popular trend of travelling alone within a tour group by launching its first trips dedicated to solo travellers.
Six solo-specific tours were unveiled by Wendy Wu Tours this morning, only a few days after the brand confirmed it had launched trips to South America.
The six new tours travel through Vietnam, China, India, Cambodia or Japan and range from 10 to 15 days in duration.
In a statement, Wendy Wu Tours said that 65 percent of its existing guests are already travelling solo and the new range of tours would better meet their expectations by providing them with their own private room every night, pairing them with like-minded travellers and providing them with more flexibility.
Additionally, solo travellers booking one of the new solo tours don’t have to pay a single supplement.
Wendy Wu Tours’ Group Chief Executive, Joe Karbo, said that although the brand has “always catered well to the solo market”, the new range will provide an experience created entirely with solos in mind.
“The tours were only made available to book a fortnight ago, and already we’ve seen a huge uptake in bookings, with Japan proving the most popular destination so far,” he said.
“We’re excited to offer this new opportunity to our Travel Agents, to grow their business in this particular demographic.”
