RECORD SMASHING: Wendy Wu has just had its best year EVER

Wendy Wu has surpassed it’s all-time record for the most revenue in a calendar year, making 2018 the most successful year in the history of Wendy Wu Tours Australia. WU HOO!

This means the tour company which began in 1994 has smashed through it’s 24 year record, in terms of revenue, profit and passenger numbers.

Group CEO Joe Karbo said the result was a testament to the fantastic work of that the Australian team have done to produce, manage and drive the first two quarterly campaigns in 2018, Fly Free and Mega Asia Sale.

“Over the next few weeks we’ll start shifting gear to the last two quarterly campaigns, which will drive departures for 2019,” Karbo said.

The Australian office has seen huge growth year on year in particular for China at 18%, and Japan at 56%.

Their most popular China tour this year, the Majestic Yangtze, has seen a huge growth of over 50% on the full year 2017 numbers, as at 1 June.

In 2018, Wendy Wu Tours will take over 10,000 guests to China.

General Manager Australia Steve Richards said their exceptional growth in China bookings was indicative of an ever-expanding market for the destination.

The growth of the Majestic Yangtze also shows that travellers are loving a combination of coach touring and cruising.

Wu’s Australian office continues to go from strength to strength, with a record 7 staff shortlisted in the Women in Travel Awards, and Women in Travel Power List.

The company has also been shortlisted in up-coming National Travel Industry Awards where they are aiming to win the title of Best
International Wholesaler, following their award of Best Specialty Wholesaler in 2017.
