One year ago the woman behind tour company Crooked Compass, Lisa Pagotto, graced our television screens on Shark Tank, looking for investment in her business from a panel of investors. Tonight she will return to share her success story.
If you tuned in to the Channel 10 program last year you might recall that Lisa didn’t actually get a deal, but she still had big success.
You see, Lisa but struck up a mentoring relationship with Shark, Naomi Simson of Red Balloon and Crooked Compass, in turn, became Red Balloon’s first international product partner.
As Naomi puts it on her blog, “Lisa has all the elements I am looking for in my invested companies: passion, persistence, positivity, experience and a deep sense of purpose.”
“She is ideal… but I don’t invest — merely because at this point she appears like a ‘key person risk’. I do, however, offer to mentor her.”

As you will see tonight, since the filming of the Crooked Compass episode Lisa’s business has gone from strength to strength.
“She is now in ‘flow’ and her business has gained momentum — the planning, systems and processes (and a few people around her) she has put in place are helping her to scale. Lisa has been relentless about finding the right approach to market,” Naomi explains.
RedBalloon has since curated a selection of the Crooked-Compass ‘out of this world’ experiences, so that their customers and people with RedBalloon vouchers or Gift Cards can put them towards the range.
Oh, and get this, Naomi recently took up Lisa’s invitation to join Crooked Compass’ Reindeer Tribes of Mongolia tour.
For the lowdown on all of this and more. Make sure you tune into Shark Tank on Channel 10 tonight from 9pm.
