With women a significant contributor to the travel and tourism industry, Trafalgar says it is proud to meet increased demand by launching women only travel options.

Women of all ages have been fuelling significant growth within the travel sector for several years according to Forbes, making at least 80% of all purchasing decisions and contributing hundreds of billions to the travel and tourism industry.

Recognising both the demand and opportunity in the market, Trafalgar has developed its own series of Women’s Only Tours.

With a collection of 13 trips across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Trafalgar says this new offering is led by female Travel Directors and Wellbeing Directors with a focus on showcasing inspiring local businesswomen in the destinations they visit.

These tours have been curated specifically to provide women and those who identify as women of all ages a space to connect with like-minded female travellers from all over the world.

Some of the highlight experiences from this trip series include:

  • Learning about the ancient art of Umbrian weaving from Marta Cucchia, a fourth-generation weaver and one of the last in Italy to still produce Umbrian textile art using traditional looms and materials.
  • Baking bread with the most liberated women in Turkey in their the village of Demircidere.
  • Meeting and sharing a meal with the artisans of Iraq al-Amir Women’s Association – a small organisation in the municipality of Amman, Jordan, which aims to financially empower local women.

“We have always been a champion of women in travel, with the majority of our leadership team female, supporting locally-female run businesses around the world and some of our first female travel directors still with us 42 years on,” said Gavin Tollman, CEO.

“It was the obvious next step for us to offer women’s only departures – with 13 tours currently available to book, we’re excited to grow this series of trips to meet the increasing demand for women-only travel options alongside female solo travel growth”.

To celebrate not only the launch of this trip series but also in recognition of International Women’s Day, Trafalgar is offering 15% off all Women’s Only trips for the whole month of March.
