Flying in style: Cathay Pacific’s Aria Suite debuts on Sydney-Hong Kong flights

Hong Kong travel just got a boost. HK and Sydney-bound travellers can now look forward to elevated luxury, with Cathay Pacific bringing its new business class offering, Aria Suite, to selected Sydney-Hong Kong flights.

The debut of the cabin on the route marks just the second long-haul service to feature the airline’s all-new premium product, available on its refurbished Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

But premium flyers won’t be the only travellers to benefit from the aircraft upgrade, with CX’s latest 777 also featuring a brand-new premium economy class and an enhanced economy cabin.

Currently operating five times per week on the route, the retrofitted aircraft will be regularly deployed on flight CX162 between Sydney and HK from early April.

“We are proud to bring our highly anticipated, premium and customer-centric Aria Suite, brand-new premium economy and refreshed economy cabins to our customers travelling to and from Australia, reinforcing our commitment to providing an unparalleled level of comfort and convenience,” Cathay Regional General Manager, Southwest Pacific, Frosti Lau said.

“With Sydney being the chosen destination for the second long-haul route to fly the Aria Suite ‒ following the London-Hong Kong launch in January ‒ it demonstrates the importance of the Australian market to Cathay Pacific.

“We are thrilled to see our newest cabin products on our Sydney-Hong Kong route so soon after we celebrated the direct serviceʼs 50th anniversary in late 2024.”

The Aria Suite combines luxury, privacy and innovation, featuring fully enclosed suites, soft LED lighting, wireless charging and a 24-inch 4K entertainment screen – the largest ever offered by the airline. Each 1-2-1 configured cabin also incorporates Gallery in the Skies, displaying bespoke artwork inspired by Hong Kong.

Alongside business class, the upgraded premium economy cabin includes extra privacy, 15.6-inch 4K screens with Bluetooth connectivity and dedicated lavatories.

$20B boost

The launch is part of Cathay Pacific’s HK$100 billion (AU$20 billion) investment in fleet, cabin upgrades, lounges and digital innovation, and according to the carrier, reinforces its commitment to delivering world-class service and comfort.

“We understand that customers are not just looking for a comfortable seat, but rather a space where they can enjoy, relax and immerse themselves in the experience,” Lau remarked.

“Every aspect has been carefully considered to give our customers the best premium long-haul experience in the sky, because we know itʼs this attention to detail that makes the biggest difference and sets Cathay Pacific apart.”
