Australia’s cruise season continues full steam ahead with the arrival of Celebrity Cruises Edge-Series ship, Celebrity Edge, to Australia over the weekend.
Celebrity Edge arrived at the Darwin Cruise Ship Terminal on Saturday 2 December to kick off the ship’s first stop in Australia as it journeys along the East Coast to the port of Sydney.
The luxury cruise ship, owned by Royal Caribbean Group, arrived in the Top End of the Northern Territory carrying more than 2,800 visitors and 1,300 crew.
The arrivals aboard the ship received a Welcome to Country and traditional dancing from Larrakia Nation on the vessel’s top deck.

The passengers were greeted by ambassadors from the Top End Visitor Information Centre for the one-day stopover in the tropical capital.
Celebrity Cruises’ revolutionary ship, Celebrity Edge, launched in December 2018 and is the first of five identical sister vessels.
The cruise ship continues to Yorkeys Knob and Airlie Beach before guests board in Sydney for its maiden voyage from Australia – travelling for 12-nights around New Zealand.

The departure is the first of 12 itineraries scheduled to start from Sydney and Auckland from December 2023 to April 2024.
Celebrity Edge arrived in Darwin after completing a 14-night itinerary from Singapore including a stopover in Bali.
