Designer Journeys says it is ready for rapid expansion following the successful completion of a $3.5 million capital raising from new and existing investors, led by the Royal Automobile Club (RACV) Limited.

Since July 2021, Designer Journeys has seen a 273 per cent growth in enquiry, buoyed by demand from both agents and consumers as domestic and international borders open up.

Designer Journeys’ CEO and Managing Director Matt McCann said, “We’ve evolved the way in which Agents and Consumers can create and book tailored travel experiences in response to high demand as the sector emerges from covid.

“Our ambition is to be a leading global marketplace for agents and consumers seeking designed travel experiences, and this capital raising enables us to make a significant investment in technology, marketing and people to propel us towards this goal.”

“We now have more than 40 employees, over 200 local expert designers and more than 2,000 itineraries on our marketplace. Further, we are already trusted by more than 1,000 new travel agents around Australia who have joined Designer Journeys in the last five months, ready for the bounce back in travel.

“Our platform will help them deliver unique, premium travel itineraries and high-quality customer experiences to their clients.”

Matt McCann said it’s been pleasing to see the appetite for investment in Designer Journeys in the local economic recovery, with the company set to put the funds to work with immediate expansion across Agent Networks and Affiliate channels.

“Currently, we’re seeing high demand for travel to Europe, despite military action in Ukraine and strong domestic and Pacific Island demand in Australia.

“We expect European demand from Australian customers to be very strong in the next three months as Australians seem ready to travel again,” McCann concluded.

Designer Journeys is currently hiring for seven roles in Australia.
