Avalon has joined the #ArrivalRevival over in Europe and has kicked off its 2021 season on the Seine, sailing from Paris. Wish you were there? Yup, us too.

Signifying the reignition of river cruising, Avalon Waterways has officially returned to European rivers, kicking off its 2021 season just in time to take advantage of the European summer.

Setting sail from Paris in late July, the company embarked on its first cruise since December 2019, welcoming guests and reuniting its crew aboard Avalon Tapestry II for its Paris to Normandy itinerary.

To celebrate the return, Avalon’s Managing Director, Pam Hoffee was on board the Suite Ship to welcome guests back and re-introduce them to the Seine’s vineyard-filled valleys, medieval towns, and contemporary architectural wonders.

Avalon’s 2021 European season will also include select departures on the Rhine, Danube, Rhône and Moselle Rivers.

Australians can book now for the 2022 season and save up to $6,400 per couple on select 2022 European river cruises.

Avalon has joined a plethora of cruise lines, who have also announced their return to cruising in Europe, the UK and the U.S.

Viking welcomed guests back on board for river voyages in France on Friday, 30 July, with its new longships debut on the seine in Paris, just footsteps away from the Eiffel Tower and Portugal said, “bem vindo de volta” to Scenic’s luxury all-inclusive river cruising as it returned to the Douro River on Friday 30 July 2021.

Last week Majestic Princess returned to Seattle, following its first successful voyage for Princess in the United States.

The ship became the line’s first ship to return to service, kicking off the partial season of Alaska sailings departing through September 26, 2021.

Over in the UK, international cruises from England are also set to restart after a forced 16-month hiatus.

With a bit of hope, Australian domestic cruising with be starting its #ArrivalRevival soon.
