The teams at APT and AmaWaterways have christened their newest vessel, which joins both lines’ fleet in Europe.
The 164-passenger AmaSerena was christened in Vilshofen, Germany by godmother, Michelle Fee – the Chief Executive and Co-Founder of Cruise Planners, an American Express travel representative.
AmaSerena is the sister-vessel to AmaVenita, which also recently joined the line’s European riverships.
In attendance to observe Fee break a bottle of champagne on the ship’s hull were AmaWaterways’ Co-Founders, Rudi Schreiner and Kristin Karst. There were also a number of local dignitaries, including Mayor Florian Gams and 2nd County Commissioner, Rainmund Kneidinger.

Commenting on the occasion, APT Chief Marketing Officer, Debra Fox, said the line was ‘delighted’ to welcome AmaSerena to the ‘ever-expanding innovative fleet’.
AmaSerena and AmaVenita join other sister ships the AmaReina, AmaPrima, AmaCerto and AmaSonata.
Onboard, the ships have signature twin balconies, salon and spa services, sun decks, multiple dining venues, including The Chef’s Table restaurant, and intimate wine rooms.
There’s also fitness rooms and a heated sun deck with swimming pools and swim-up bars.
