The APT brand swells its fleet of river ships, taking delivery of two brand-new luxury vessels to sail its European itineraries in 2025, both custom-designed and purpose-built for Australian travellers.
With these latest custom-built river ships due to debut in 2025, APT will have new vessels operating in three destinations around the globe.
The new European river ships will complement the other new vessels announced recently, including the APT Mekong Serenity sailing on the Mekong River for the first time in September 2023 and the MS Estrela making her maiden voyage on the Douro River in June 2024.
This is in addition to Travelmarvel’s latest fleet of three river ships, currently in their second year of sailing.
The future of river cruising is swell
Group CEO David Cox said the business is firmly steering towards future success with its latest river ship investments.
“This marks the next steps for the business. After a highly successful partnership with AMAWaterways across 10 years, the time is now right for APT Travel Group to lead the way once again,” he said.
“We have been investing in the future and will continue to invest and grow our portfolio in river cruising now and for many years to come.”
APT Travel Group’s founding family, the McGearys, said: “Across our nearly 100-year history, APT has continually evolved to stay ahead of the changing needs of the customer.”
“After a highly successful partnership with AMA, APT is excited to design and build what will be the most innovative and luxurious ships on the river.”
