Carnival Cruise Line has upgraded benefits for Diamond and Platinum status passengers in its VIFP Club ahead of a new and improved Carnival Rewards loyalty program launch in June 2026. Here’s what you need to navigate for your clients.
The new program will be the first of its kind in the cruise industry, taking inspiration from hotel and airline loyalty programs where members can earn status and rewards through travel activities and spending, along with a co-branded credit card.
Potentially, these include rolling out earning and rewards opportunities for Australian cruisers similar to those enjoyed by US residents with Carnival Rewards Mastercards.
Global changes will see VIFP Club members move to Carnival Rewards with their status level dependent on their current VIFP status by 31 May 2026.
Carnival Rewards members can accumulate points that can be converted to reward dollars and used toward cruise fares, onboard experiences, shore excursions and other holiday activities.
Premium passenger perks
The enhancements apply to current Diamond and Platinum guests and those who reach the cruise line’s top-tier status by 31 May 2026, making it easier for premium passengers to earn and keep their status levels in Carnival Rewards.
Guests who achieve Diamond status in the current VIFP Club program by 31 May 2026 will receive lifetime Diamond status in Carnival Rewards.
Those who reach Platinum status in the VIFP Club by 31 May 2026 will have their status extended to 31 May 2028 and receive 10,000 Carnival Rewards Status Qualifying Stars in each two-year earning period from 1 June 2026.
This gives Platinum VIFP members a 20 per cent boost towards earning Platinum and Diamond status in the new program and a minimum base of Gold status in future earning cycles.
Children under 18 will also enjoy the same status as the parent or adult who is designated as their responsible party on the booking for their Carnival cruise.
When they turn 18, those who have achieved Diamond or Platinum status by 31 May 2026 can also opt-in to Carnival Rewards with their earned status and receives all the perks available to Diamond and Platinum VIFP members.
Carnival will also share the details of a revamped Carnival Rewards Milestones program for guests to celebrate their cruising achievements soon.
