Cunard’s luxe cruise ship Queen Elizabeth sailed into Fremantle on 27 November 2023, marking the start of her Australia and New Zealand homeport season alongside flagship Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria, which will arrive in early 2024.
Carrying more than 2,000 guests and 900 crew members, Queen Elizabeth will embark on a Sydney homeport season filled with curated event voyages and guest speakers.
Highlighted speakers include former Australian cricket captain Kim Hughes, former Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and journalist, presenter and author Tracy Spicer on select sailings.
The inaugural Sporting Greats and Wellness Voyage 2024 departs Sydney on 13 February 2024, headlined by sporting legends and presenters Brett Lee, Adam Goodes, Karrie Webb and Mark Beretta and complemented by a wellness program.
After a successful first outing this year, the sold-out Great Australian Culinary Voyage 2024 will feature acclaimed Aussie chefs and experts, including Karen Martini, Mark Olive, Darren Purchese, Gary Mehigan and Katie Spain, offering foodies unrivalled culinary experiences at sea.
Over the course of her four-month deployment, Queen Elizabeth will use 17 tonnes of local seafood, 68 tonnes of premium Australian meats and 165 tonnes of fresh dairy, including milk and cheese and 500,000 fresh eggs for passengers and crew.
Altogether, the trio of ‘Cunard Queens’ will inject more than AUD$81 million into the local economies.
Cunard President Katie McAlister expressed her enthusiasm for the launch of the Australia and New Zealand homeport season.
“This is going to be Cunard’s biggest celebration of Australia yet. We are excited to welcome guests aboard our elegant three Queens as they embark on a voyage filled with luxury, cultural enrichment and unforgettable moments,” Ms McAlister said.
