The flagship Discovery Princess will be the biggest Princess Cruises vessel to homeport in Australia in the cruise line’s 50-year history of sailing Down Under when it docks in Sydney for the 2025-26 summer cruise season.
Built in 2022, the 3,660-guest Discovery Princess will debut in her Sydney homeport in October 2025, sailing from Australia alongside Crown Princess and Grand Princess.
Discovery Princess is the third vessel designed from the ground up with Princess MedallionClass.
As the sixth Royal-Class ship, she shares all the features of sister ships Enchanted Princess, Sky Princess, Majestic Princess, Regal Princess and Royal Princess.
New to Australia is 360: An Extraordinary Experience, exclusive to Discovery Princess and Enchanted Princess, for a sensory dining journey through world-class cuisine, storytelling and visual entertainment.
In addition, she offers 14 restaurants, 10 bars and additional lounges and entertainment options, including The Catch by Rudi, Crown Grill, Gigi’s Pizzeria and the Chef’s Table Lumiere experience.
Other highlights include the SeaWalk glass-bottomed walkway that extends 9m from the ship’s edge and 39m above the sea, the Enclave & Lotus Spa and 10 hot tub spas.
Princess Cruises President John Padgett said the cruise line is thrilled to add Discovery Princess to its Australian fleet for the 2025-26 summer season.
“We are delighted to unveil the future deployment of the Discovery Princess, further solidifying our belief in the Australian market,” he said.
“We are confident our international and Australian guests will be excited about the spectacular experience aboard Discovery Princess as she sails from Sydney in late 2025.”
The full 2025-26 summer season program will be revealed on 15 November 2023 and go on sale on 29 November 2023.
The news also comes as Royal Princess arrived in Sydney for her inaugural cruise season Down Under.
