FRENCH DELIGHT: La Mer restaurant to open onboard Sky Princess

Casual French bistro-style dining with a modern twist will be served on board Princess Cruises' new ship Sky Princess with news that Le Mer restaurant will be opening on board.

Casual French bistro-style dining with a modern twist will be served on board Princess Cruises’ new ship Sky Princess with news that Le Mer restaurant will be opening on board.

Sky Princess is set to arrive in Ft. Lauderdale in December 2019 for her inaugural season of Caribbean cruises and the new eatery marks the first time that Princess Cruises will introduce a new French restaurant to North American guests.

The restaurant has already become a firm favourite with Australian guests sailing onboard Majestic Princess this summer season.

The chef behind La Mer is Three-Michelin Star Chef, Emmanuel Renaut who is the owner and executive chef of the famous Flocons de Sel restaurant in the French Alps village of Megève.

La Mer’s menu will be inspired by the flavours and feeling of the French Alps and contrasts from the ocean: think Beef filet mignon with sweet onions sauté, red wine jus, hand cut fries or Red snapper & scallop mousseline with lobster morsels and lemon grass lobster sauce.

The specialty restaurant will be located in the lively Sky Princess atrium.

The restaurant first debuted onboard Majestic Princess in 2017 to rave reviews from international cruisers while the ship was based in China.

“It’s been an honour to collaborate with Chef Renaut again to develop a fresh and new menu for La Mer on Sky Princess and showcase his authentically crafted French dishes for the first time to our North American guests,” said Rai Caluori, Executive Vice President of Guest Experience and Product Development at Princess Cruises.
