Bookings now open to fly/sail the Drake Passage with Lindblad

A trip to Antarctica is on every traveller’s wish list. Part of the pilgrimage to the White Continent can cause some trepidation, namely crossing the infamous Drake Passage. Will passengers get the Drake Lake or Drake Shake? Alternatively, your clients can skip it with Lindblad's fly/sail voyages!

A trip to Antarctica is on every traveller’s wish list. Part of the pilgrimage to the White Continent can cause some trepidation, namely crossing the infamous Drake Passage. Will passengers get the Drake Lake or Drake Shake? Alternatively, your clients can skip it with Lindblad’s fly/sail voyages!

Lindblad knows all about meeting – and exceeding – curious travellers’ bucket list adventures. With intrepid adventures across the globe, they’ve been leading wildlife- and nature-focused adventures for decades.

To Drake or not to Drake?

For some, sailing the Drake is a rite of passage and a way to earn your stripes by following in the footsteps of polar explorers like Amundsen and Scott (though in far greater comfort and safety). For others, it’s a means to an end, a must-do if Antarctica is high ‘on the list’.

With Lindblad, sailing the Drake Passage is now a choice with trips commencing in 2025 that fly both ways over the Drake Passage or combine both flying and sailing to reach the chilly climes of Antarctica.

Exciting, huh? Especially now that Lindblad’s 2025/26 departures of their Antarctica Direct itineraries aboard National Geographic Explorer are now open for booking!

Whether your clients are time-poor, seasick-prone, or simply love the convenience of a fly/sail option, they’ll want to hop aboard the inaugural sailing dates now.

While Amundsen charted his course over 99 days to reach Antarctica, your clients can now chart theirs with the pioneers of expedition explorations. And in a much shorter time frame!

  • Antarctica Direct: Fly the Drake Passage: This 8-day trip is ideal for those short on time or who are on a longer adventure and keen to fit lots in. The flight from Puerto Natales to King George Island bypasses the tumultuous Drake Passage altogether, leaving your clients plenty of time for adventures like glacier spying, mountain hiking, kayaking around icebergs, and watching hilarious penguin antics. From $11,220* per person twin share.
  • Antarctica Direct: Fly and Sail the Drake Passage: The best of both worlds is possible on this combination voyage including a flight over the Drake Passage and a sailing across it. From $14,320* per person twin share.

  • South Georgia and the Falklands: Travellers love the wildlife and variety on this 17-day adventure. To snap up 20% off the 8 October sailing, head to Lindblad quick smart.
