Luxury Lodges of Australia adds Tasmania's 'On Board' to collection

Luxury Lodges of Australia has announced that Tasmanian expedition cruise vessel Odalisque III, by On Board, is its newest member.

Luxury Lodges of Australia has announced that Tasmanian expedition cruise vessel Odalisque III, by On Board, is its newest member.

Purpose-built in 2023 for exploring Tasmania’s rugged coastline and waterways, Odalisque III is a luxury, small-ship expedition vessel with capacity for a maximum of 12 guests in seven cabins. The ship cruises to some of the farthest reaches of the state’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed regions.

On Board is a Tasmanian, family-owned company. The signature experience of Odalisque III is a five-day discovery of Port Davey on the remote Southwest coast, inaccessible by road. It is home to a protected marine park, the Southwest National Park and UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

The journey begins and ends in Hobart with a 40-minute scenic seaplane transfer to Odalisque III.  During the voyage, guests can expect gourmet meals created from Tasmanian sustainable seafood, as well as local wines and whiskies.

The design of Odalisque III has centred on sustainable options to ensure a minimal footprint is left in the wilderness regions in which it cruises. All guests are inducted by expert guides and made familiar with biosecurity practices to protect the fragile environment.

“We feel very privileged to join some of Australia’s most innovative experiential tourism providers and together offer unforgettable, life-changing experiences of our nation’s landscapes, cultures and our style of warm, authentic Tasmanian hospitality,” said On Board Founder, Pieter van der Woude.

To celebrate joining Luxury Lodges of Australia, guests that book an expedition cruise with On Board before 9 December 2023 will receive an AUD$1800 travel credit per cabin towards their journey to Tasmania. Valid for travel dates between 10 November 2023 and 30 May 2024.

Luxury Lodges of Australia recently launched a trade and media information portal.
