Princess Cruises will nearly double its beds out of Sydney during the 2020/21 wave season when it sends Regal Princess to cruise from the city alongside her sister, Majestic Princess.
Not only does this make it the first time Princess Cruises has deployed two Royal Class ships from the same homeport outside of the Caribbean, but it will be the biggest deployment out of Sydney.
The news was announced by Princess Cruises’ Senior Vice President Asia Pacific, Stuart Allison, at the World Leading Cruise Line Summit where KARRYON is reporting live from this week.
The 141,000-tonne Regal Princess will arrive in Sydney after a grand voyage from Rome in December 2020 and will spend four months in the city during her maiden season cruising in Australia.
Itineraries for her first deployment will be announced late March 2019, but will likely give Aussies plenty of time to explore the vessel’s many features, including her 13 dining venues, soaring atrium, the SeaWalk, plush private poolside cabanas, and more.
With five of its 18-strong fleet cruising down under in 2019, Princess Cruises ranks Australia as its biggest market outside the United States.
