Reliable connectivity is increasingly viewed as a necessity of travel, but at sea, it’s often still more frustrating than functional. Oceania Cruises is changing that narrative by completing the installation of Starlink WiFi across its entire fleet. With high-speed, unlimited internet now included in the cruise fare, guests can easily stay connected, even while exploring some of the more remote reaches of the globe.
The move underscores Oceania’s commitment to enhancing guest experiences on its eight small, luxurious ships. According to Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, the initiative is all about meeting modern travellers’ needs.
“At Oceania Cruises, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences for our discerning guests and are thrilled to offer travellers the ability to connect easily online on board all our ships.
“The installation of Starlink WiFi across our entire fleet of eight small, luxurious ships means it’s never been easier to stay connected with loved ones while embarking on an adventure and exploring our incredible global destinations.”
However, no system is without its limitations. Connectivity can still vary depending on the ship’s location and proximity to onboard routers. Certain areas of the ship may offer stronger signals than others, particularly in public spaces close to routers. These nuances mean that while Starlink has improved the experience of connecting at sea, it may not fully replicate the seamless connectivity of land.
For travel professionals, this announcement means your clients can now post their Instagram-worthy cruise moments, check in and log in to work even in the middle of the Pacific.

2026 and beyond
The Starlink rollout is a notable update, but it represents just one part of Oceania Cruises’ ongoing developments. With two new ships scheduled for delivery in 2027 and 2028 or 2029, the cruise line continues to focus on expanding its offerings, maintaining its emphasis on culinary excellence and destination-focused itineraries.
The cruise line recently unveiled its 2026 collection, offering over 100 itineraries that span destinations across Alaska, Northern Europe, and the Mediterranean. These voyages range in length from seven to 67 days, catering to travellers seeking a mix of short escapes and immersive journeys.
In Alaska, Riviera will return with 14 itineraries, The Mediterranean will be a focal point with over 50 itineraries on Allura, Insignia, and Nautica. Meanwhile, Northern Europe will be served by Vista, Marina, and Insignia, featuring journeys across the Baltics, Scandinavia, the British Isles, Iceland, and Greenland on trips ranging from seven to 18 days.
A standout feature of the collection is the Solar Eclipse Cruise aboard Marina. Departing from Copenhagen to Reykjavik on 30 July 2026, this special voyage will allow guests to witness the celestial phenomenon while engaging with expert astronomer Dennis Mammana, who will join as a guest speaker. This unique offering highlights Oceania’s ability to blend extraordinary experiences with luxury travel.
