P&O Cruises has celebrated its latest social media milestone – 400,000 Facebook fans – in true cruise style, with a digital fireworks bonanza designed to light up the accounts of its followers.
Since launching in June 2009, P&O Cruises’ Facebook page has been growing at a rate of knots and is now home to hundreds of thousands of fans who use the community to share their love of cruising and P&O.
When the 400,000th fan registered just before 11am today, a Facebook post was released, triggering a special 3D interactive fireworks display which P&O fans can share on their own Facebook page, Twitter account or private email.
P&O Cruises Director of Marketing and Distribution Simon Cheng said it was a thrill being part of such a successful Facebook page.
“When we started the Facebook page back in 2009, we had no idea that it would grow into such a positive and passionate online community. Our fans champion us every step of the way and so we wanted to thank them and do something that they could all share in as we mark this latest milestone,”
