Cunard's Queen Elizabeth emerged from the shipping yard looking sophisticated & glamorous after completing a two-week refurbishment at the Damen Shiprepair Brest in France.

Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth emerged from the shipping yard looking sophisticated & glamorous after completing a two-week refurbishment at the Damen Shiprepair Brest in France.

Like English royalty in an elegant single-feathered wide brim cambric hat & a glamorously matching skirt suit, Queen Elizabeth – the cruise ship – sparkled with special touches & fancy new additions.

Among the biggest onboard change is the introduction of Mareel Wellness & Beauty – Cunard’s first ever own spa concept. Described as “luxury spa at sea”, it offers guests the complete experience from seaweed bathing rituals to a meditation room, multi-functional fitness center and more.

While initially it may sound like a regular cruise ship spa, Mareel goes above and beyond by extending its wellness experiences to the ship’s daily activity program through stretch and meditation films on stateroom TVs, open air yoga and more.

Also new to Queen Elizabeth is the fresh shopping experience created in The Royal Arcade as well as new furniture on the outside deck.

The aft sun deck has received a completely new layout, while public areas have been updated with new carpets and soft furnishings.

Australian travellers will be among the first to experience the new spa offering and see the refurbishment when Queen Elizabeth arrives in February to commence her 2019 record 54-day season Down Under.
