Can you hear the collective sigh of relief from cruisers and industry folk who want to explore cruise ships but don’t like hiking out to White Bay?
For those who aren’t aware, White Bay is a good 15 minute drive (in mild traffic) from Sydney’s Harbour. The only way to get to and from the second major cruising port is either via a taxi or a bus – this can be kind of a hassle and expensive at times.
All that’s about to change (praise the goddess of cruising) because Captain Cook Cruises will give cruisers a third option for travelling to and from White Bay – a ferry service.
The White Bay Cruise Terminal City Ferry will commence operations on 27 November (two days – yay) and will operate between White Bay, Circular Quay and Darling Harbour every 20 minutes from 7.30am until 2.30pm.
According to Anthony Haworth, General Manager of Captain Cook Cruises, the service will provide a quick and efficient way to travel to the growing cruise port.
“The cruise ship market has been crying out for this ferry service for a long time.”
Anthony Haworth, Captain Cook Cruises General Manager
“The service will make transport to and from White Bay Cruise Terminal both more pleasurable and more accessible for interstate, international and local passengers.”
The White Bay Cruise Terminal City Ferry is priced at $9 one way, per person. Ferries will operate between White Bay and Circular Quay in the morning and between White Bay and Darling Harbour in the afternoon.
Tickets are available for purchase online, in person at Captain Cook Cruises ticket offices at Circular Quay, Darling Harbour and White Bay cruise terminal and through participating cruise lines.
