Royal Caribbean reveals its 2026-27 Aussie season; this is how it plans to "raise the bar" in the region

Royal Caribbean has revealed its 2026-27 Aussie summer season, and the cruise line says it’s their most island-happy, weekend-friendly lineup yet.

Royal Caribbean has revealed its 2026-27 Aussie summer season, and the cruise line says it’s their most island-happy, weekend-friendly lineup yet.

Making waves from October 2026 to April 2027, Quantum of the Seas returns to Brisbane, joining Anthem of the Seas in Sydney. But perhaps the biggest development is the sharper focus on the South Pacific, shorter escapes and weekend departures.

In Queensland, Quantum is back for its fourth summer – and promising to dial it up with 28 cruises from three to eight nights. Think tropical favourites like Noumea (New Caledonia), Port Vila and Mystery Island (both Vanuatu), plus Aussie ports including Airlie Beach and Cairns.

And in a boost to flexibility, even more seven-night sailings will now depart across weekends, which should help families, groups or those looking for an island fix in less than a week.

In NSW, Anthem of the Seas (which we’ve reviewed) returns to Sydney Harbour with 21 itineraries spanning three to 11 nights.

Highlights include two quick hops to Hobart, a bunch of South Pacific voyages and all-new nine-night cruises to New Zealand, taking in Wellington, Napier, Dunedin and beautiful Milford Sound.

For those looking to adventure further, there’s also a 25-night voyage from Los Angeles to Brisbane, which comprises stops in Hawaii, French Polynesia, and for the first time, Catalina Island (California).

Royal Caribbean’s Quantum and Anthem of the Seas offer guests a wide range of onboard experiences, from skydiving and surfing simulators to the highest panoramic viewing points on any cruise ships. Dining options include Izumi, Chops Grille and Jamie’s Italian, among a plethora of other choices. Meanwhile, entertainment spans live shows, music venues and wellness facilities like the Vitality Spa and adults-only Solarium.

“Australians know they can trust Royal Caribbean for getaways that combine convenience with nonstop adventure,” Royal Caribbean International vice president and managing director, Australia and New Zealand Gavin Smith says.

“This season, we’re continuing to raise the bar with more short getaways, weekend departures, and more ways to maximise island time across the top destinations of the South Pacific.

“With the variety of short and more frequent getaways in 2026 and 2027, every type of holidaymaker can make the most of their travels and without compromise.”
