Scenic held its annual ‘Night of Stars’ awards on Saturday with the ‘icy chic’ themed event at Ivy Ballroom in Sydney recognising the ongoing hard work and commitment from its top agents in Australia and New Zealand.
Over 240 agents attended the uber glam event, which Channel 9’s Steve Jacobs hosted in the role of MC for the fourth year in a row.

Whilst there was no big announcement this year, last year’s Scenic Eclipse Luxury ship revelation was still front and centre with a video screened of the ship beginning its build in Poland as well as news of the AUD$30,000 a ticket inaugural sailing in August 2018 already being sold out.
With Scenic Founder and Managing Director Glen Moroney away in Europe, Liz Glover (Acting General Manager Sales & Marketing) said in her speech that “If you search on Google you’ll find around 438 million pages on how bad 2016 was”. But that “The industry remains as resilient as ever” and that for many agents and Scenic, 2016 had in fact been “a great year.”

One Australian store had reportedly sold over $2m of Scenic sales alone in 2016 with another New Zealand Agent remarkably making one Scenic booking totalling NZ$400k.
Eight awards were given to the top offices in each state including a new award for the top office in Canberra, which previously came under NSW.
Plus five national awards – top home based travel agency, top online travel agency (also a new award for 2016), top single location agency, and the top consultants in Australia and New Zealand.

Aleisha Fittler, Executive General Manager
Aleisha Fittler, Executive General Manager commented: “A huge congratulations to all our winners, they have all worked so hard over the past year promoting and selling our ever expanding product range – we really do appreciate their loyalty and commitment to Scenic. Our annual ‘Night of Stars’ event is a great way for the Scenic team to say thank you.”
Fourteen agents were also awarded Diamond status for 2016 as part of Scenic’s elite agent program including three new agents – American Express Travel, Escape Travel Mount Hutton and helloworld Miranda.
