Scenic Group celebrated two momentous occasions in April 2023 as the just-launched Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse II, sailed with luxury yacht Emerald Azzurra in Monte Carlo while sister-ship Emerald Sakara had her float-out in Vietnam.

Scenic Eclipse II has just completed her maiden voyage in the Mediterranean where guests enjoyed a range of new features and indulgent spaces.

Emerald Azzurra set sail in March 2022, covering the Mediterranean, Adriatic and Red Seas as well as the Caribbean and Central America.

The meeting of two of Scenic Group’s owned-and-built ships marks a significant milestone in the expansion of its worldwide ocean cruising program.

Float-out for Emerald Sakara

Emerald Sakara is preparing for a final interior fit-out ahead of upcoming sea trials as she gears up for her inaugural voyage from Athens to Rome, departing on 5 August 2023.

The newest luxury yacht and the second for Emerald Cruises’ fleet was custom-built at The Halong Shipbuilding Company in Vietnam.

Like sister yacht Emerald Azzurra, Emerald Sakara has a maximum of 100 guests per cruise for an exclusive cruising experience, exploring ports and harbours only accessible to small yachts.

After debuting in August, Emerald Sakara will embark on the European summer season in Italy, Greece, Turkey and the Adriatic before spending the European winter in the Caribbean and Central America.

She will return to the Mediterranean for the 2024 European summer season.

Scenic Group Chairman & Founder Glen Moroney said: “Adding to the fleet so swiftly is a sign of the positive reception our new yachts have received from guests and travel partners. Emerald Sakara opens up a whole world of new destinations that are sure to spark even greater demand.”

Emerald Cruises Director of Sales Marketing & Product Angus Crichton said only a few suites are available for the 2023 Mediterranean season with 2024 selling fast.

“With Super Earlybird savings from $3,700 per couple, now is the time to book your clients to avoid disappointment,” he said.

Emerald Sakara’s godmother was revealed as CLIA CEO Kelly Craighead last month.
