Princess Cruises’ latest Love Boat Sun Princess embarked on her maiden voyage – a 10-day Mediterranean roundtrip from Rome – on 29 February 2024. The new 4,300-guest Sphere Class ship is the most luxurious and innovative Princess vessel to date and will cruise the Mediterranean and Caribbean for her inaugural season.
Sun Princess is also the first LNG (liquefied natural gas) vessel for the cruise line, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and featuring onboard energy recovery systems.
Onboard newness
As teased, the new ship debuts lifestyle amenities, including The Dome, a glass-enclosed, geodesic structure inspired by Santorini terraces, and the suspended Sphere Atrium in the central Piazza with an open indoor/outdoor concept and expansive views.

Sun Princess also contains 30 restaurant and bar venues, including brand-new celeb chef culinary collab Kai Sushi by Makoto and specialty pop-up The Butcher’s Block by Dario, and the three-storey, main Horizons Dining Room.

For onboard entertainment, the high-tech Princess Arena will stage original productions, including performances in the round and at night, The Dome will have acrobatic Cirque Éloize performances and the Piazza features a retractable stage and immersive Champagne Waterfall.

Sun Princess will also feature the cruise line’s largest casino, a two-storey Lotus Spa and expanded retail with 200-plus premium brands.
For families, the new ship will showcase the first-ever family activity zone, Park19, alongside the Sea Breeze glider ride and the Coastal Climb structure with a view.

The reimagined staterooms include more than 1,500 cabins with balcony views and new Cabana Mini-Suites with extra outdoor space.
