Windstar Cruises has revealed details about the line’s $250 Million Star Plus Initiative which will see them transforming their three all-suite Star Class ships Star Breeze, Star Legend, and Star Pride.

Much more than a lick of paint, these $250 million upgrades mark the biggest investment and expansion in Windstar Cruises’ history.

Windstar’s President John Delaney emphasised that the initiative was not about getting bigger, it was about offering guests more of what they love about Windstar.

“Each ship will carry 312 guests total which nearly matches the capacity for Wind Surf,” he said.

“We will continue to offer the world’s best small ship experience but with more amenities that our guests have been asking us for like additional dining and a world-class spa and fitness centre We are making these improvements to ensure these beloved ships may continue to operate well into the future.”

Work on the ships begins in October 2019 and ends in November 2020 and will be done at Fincantieri’s Shipyards in Trieste and later in Palermo, Italy.

50 new suites will be added with the beds by the window or balcony while the new Grand Owner’s Suite will offer three adjoining individual suites to create a 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath suite.

It will also have a separate dining room and living room areas, an entertainment bar, a spacious central balcony, and an additional balcony in one of the bedroom suites.

A new infinity pool was also revealed, along with a reimagined Veranda restaurant with all new layout and more seating.
