Norwegian Viva embarked on her maiden voyage, a nine-day ocean cruise from Trieste, Italy to Lisbon, Portugal on 11 August 2023, carrying the first guests aboard the all-new NCL Prima-Class ship.
Norwegian Viva’s official christening ceremony takes place in Miami on 28 November 2023 with the ship’s godfather, award-winning artist Luis Fonsi, and a Latinx singer lineup of Paulina Rubio, Marcello Hernandez and Pedro Capó.
Following the debut voyage, Viva will sail Mediterranean and Greek Isles itineraries until November before homeporting in San Juan, Puerto Rico for a Caribbean season from December 2023 to March 2024. The ship returns to Mediterranean Europe in May 2024.

With this new addition, NCL Asia Pacific Managing Director Ben Angell told Karryon recently the cruise line intended to dominate European cruising in the Australian market.
The brand-new vessel is the second NCL Prima Class ship with the same design as sister ship Norwegian Prima. She was originally set to launch in June 2023.

Standout onboard experiences include the three-level Viva Speedway racetrack, Indulge Food Hall, The Drop and The Rush – the fastest slides at sea and the sustainable Metropolitan cocktail bar.
With Viva’s tagline ‘Live It Up’, Norwegian Cruise Line President David J. Herrera said: “Our guests will be doing just that while they cruise to some of the liveliest cities in Europe and the Caribbean during the ship’s inaugural season.”
