This is totally unexpected, seriously interesting and actually kind of cool – Australia’s former Prime Minister and the first (and so far only) female to lead our country is heading out to sea with Seabourn…
… and cruisers will actually be able to engage with her.
Julia Gillard joins a lineup of other distinguished speakers and personalities on select itineraries, where they’ll not only speak on their life experiences but even answer a few cruisers’ questions.
Making her debut in ‘Seabourn Conversations’, Ms Gillard will board the line’s newest ship, Seabourn Encore, during her sailing from Singapore to Australia on 10 November 2017.
The 24-day voyage visits several ports around Asia and Australia, including ports in Indonesia as well as those along Queensland’s coast.
According to the cruise line’s President, Richard Meadows, said he’s delighted that the cruise line is able to continue offering its guests access to engaging personalities such as Ms Gillard.

Others speakers signed up for 2017 include award-winning lyricist Tim Rice who will headline Encore’s maiden voyage through southeast Asia. There’s also Chef Darren McGrady, who has been personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Diana Princess of Wales and her two sons, as well as the former Governor of Alaska.
