Gen Z & Millennials drive budget travel trend

Agoda’s data insights show younger travellers are driving the search for value-driven experiences with affordability shaping travel decisions.
More than half of Gen Z travellers (56%) aim to keep their nightly stay below USD$50 per person (around AUD$76), a preference that’s also common among Millennials (44%).

Beyond price, younger budget travellers also seek experiences that offer meaningful value, making affordable yet enriching destinations especially appealing.
Advisors can leverage this to create summer packages, combining multi-location room rates with curated activities, such as food tours or cultural excursions, increasing both booking value and customer experience.
