7Travel last night celebrated their 1st birthday in style with the who’s who of the travel industry at their swish new broadcast studios in Sydney.
Over two hundred invited guests from every section of the travel industry mingled with Channel 7 stars including Sunrise presenters David Koch, Natalie Barr and James Tobin as well as Better Homes and Gardens presenter ‘Fast’ Ed Halmagyi.
It’s been twelve months since the media broadcaster started selling travel, and according to 7travel’s leaders, it’s been “a fantastic year of partnership growth and performance for many of the industry’s leading brands”.
Since launching, 7Travel has partnered with Gold Coast-based Ignite Travel Group to fulfil bookings, a move which Head of 7Travel Sally McFadyen told guests at the event “has made all the difference.”
“We’re different because we’re a hybrid of media and travel. The reason the 7Travel model works so well is that we can feature all of our partner content and deals across all our mediums to drive more bookings. Working with Ignite to fulfil those bookings has been amazing.”

“Ever since we launched, people have asked us, are we going to do a TV show? Of which we’ve replied ‘probably not’ given there are so many out there already,” Head of 7travel, Sally McFadyen added.
“My preference is to rather use our existing shows because we’ve got such enormous reach across Sunrise, Better Homes and Gardens and The Morning Show and leveraging those, even more, will be our focus for the next 12 months.
“The whole aim for us is to showcase your destinations, your airlines and the best experiences on offer to our audience for even more reach and ultimately bookings.”
