14 travel agents have recently returned from the cruise of a lifetime, sailing through Turkey and Greece aboard APT’s own luxury small expedition ship, the MS Island Sky.
APT’s 12-day Path of the Ottomans cruise set sail from Istanbul, stopping at Turkish ports such as Canakkale, Kusadasi and Bodrum, before heading to Rhodes and then on to explore tiny Greek islands dotted throughout the Mediterranean Sea.
The group immersed themselves in local history, exploring the ancient city of Troy, seeing for themselves ANZAC Cove and the memorial at Lone Pine, visiting Ephesus and stopping at the UNESCO recognised medieval mountainside village of Lindos to tour the ruins of the Acropolis. They also spent plenty of time soaking up the local culture in sleepy coastal towns and fishing villages and sampling local cuisine.
