Travellers, don’t go cancelling or delaying your holiday plans to Hawaii over Hurricane Lane because according to the state’s leaders, everything is perfectly fine on the islands.
Hawaii Tourism Authority’s President and Chief Executive, George D. Szigeti, issued an update on the weather situation, saying that the Hurricane was downgraded to a tropical storm when it made landfall last week.
The rain and wind have since moved westward away from the islands, meaning it no longer poses a threat to residents and visitors.

George said assessments are currently being undertaken on the island of Hawaii and Kauai, which experienced excessive rainfall and flash flooding during the storm.
But that doesn’t mean tourism needs to come to a standstill, on the contrary, the State of Hawaii is “fully open for business”.
