If there’s one thing we can say for certain it’s that Aussies DO NOT shy away from taking photos while on holidays, in fact they’re so clicker happy, they’re taking around 77 photos a day.

Say what?!

According to a study commissioned by the Singapore Tourism Board, Australian families are snapping an average of 77 photos EVERY DAY of their holiday.

To do the math, that’s around 231 photos on a weekend getaway and an impressive 539 photos during a seven-day trip.

The study found one in four parents or around 25 percent are obsessed with getting the ‘perfect holiday picture’ and admitted to spending a considerable amount of time creating the perfect shot for social media.

Apparently this will lead to a whole generation of kids growing up with an endless number of selfies and ‘perfect’ images.

Despite all the time put into creating those ‘perfect’ images, most Australian families are forgetting these precious memories long before the tan has faded.

Social media has clearly emerged as the new photo with over half of those surveyed saying they look to Facebook and Instagram to store their snaps, while less than half said they physically printed a holiday photo in the last year.

Although the majority of parents (86 percent) think that physical photo books and albums help families to happily reflect on their holidays, less than one third of parents (30 percent) have created a physical photo album within the past 12 months, 36 percent last created one within the past 1-5 years, 15 percent more than five years ago, 13 percent so long ago they can’t remember and 6 percent have never created one.

Sharon Lam, Area Director Oceania, Singapore Tourism Board said it doesn’t matter how people choose to do it, there’s still a strong desire for families to capture and share holiday memories.

“The Australian Holiday Memories Report has shown that the feel-good holiday vibes don’t need to end once you’ve arrived home.”
