With Europe dominating the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards list of the world’s Best of the Best Beaches, only one Australian fave squeezed into the top 10 lineup of popular stretches in the Caribbean, Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans.
Sydney’s stunning Manly Beach snuck in at number seven on the Best of Best Beaches list, according to above-and-beyond ratings and reviews accumulated across 12 months in the TripAdvisor community.
With plenty of amenities such as cafes on hand plus wheelchair and pram accessibility, it’s easy to see why Manly Beach is trending with beachgoers.
All-rounder Praia da Falésia in Portugal’s Algarve took the top spot for its accessibility, cleanliness, clifftop views and beach activity options from sunbathing to surfing and swimming.
Also with sparkling aquamarine waters and dramatic cliffs, peaceful Spiaggia dei Conigli in Italy’s trending isle of Sicily came in at number two on the Best of the Best Beaches lineup followed by Spain’s La Concha Beach in the Basque city of San Sebastian.
Closer to home, Aussies should add Kāʻanapali Beach (4) in Maui to their wish list, a holiday hotspot that features the award-winning Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel.
The Caribbean is also calling with powdery-white sands and brilliant blue water at Grace Bay Beach (5) in Turks & Caicos and Aruba’s Eagle Beach (7) along with Siesta Beach, Sarasota (9) on Florida’s Gulf Coast and Cuba’s Varadero Beach (10) on the Atlantic.
Over in the Indian Ocean, Anse Lazio in Seychelles is number six on the Best of the Best Beaches list and is beloved for its gorgeous white sand and clear aquamarine water that’s ideal for swimming and snorkelling.
