Visit California will bring the “Golden State” to life in a series of trade and media events to be hosted on 25 and 26 August in Australia.
Visit California will bring 34 California travel industry representatives ‘Down Under’ to educate and engage travel agents and media on the myriad of attractions in California and what’s new in the Golden State 25 and 26 August. In response to continued growth in Australian travel to California, for the first time Visit California will run concurrent trade and media tracks with agent events in Sydney and Brisbane, and media events in Sydney and Melbourne.
“Australia was California’s third largest overseas tourism market in 2013 with more than 553,000 visitors infusing $990 million into California’s economy,” said Caroline Beteta, President and CEO of Visit California. “The record size of our delegation for Visit California’s biannual Australia Sales & Media Mission is a testament to the California travel industry’s collective commitment to this important market.”
”This year’s Sales and Media Mission will be the biggest and most impactful one to date for Visit California. The industry can expect sessions that are not only educational but bring the destination to life in a fun and interactive way,” said Jo Palmer, Managing Director for Visit California, Australia and New Zealand.
With Visit California’s ‘Dream Big’ brand platform at the heart of this year’s events, agents will be challenged to build the most desirable itinerary to wake up in California with a grand prize of a trip for two on offer. In addition to the grand prize of a trip for two to California, agents can look forward to sampling world renowned wine from Napa Valley, Sonoma County and Santa Barbara at the California Wine Bar and some polaroid fun at the ‘In your Dreams’ photo booth, among other games and prizes.
“We are delighted to be bringing the largest ever Visit California delegation to Australia and New Zealand, allowing agents to obtain the best quality advice from Californian suppliers in market,”
Jennifer Jasper Montero, Visit California’s Director of Australia & Latin America Marketing.
“With such strong representation across the board, we have experts from California’s full suite of top destinations, attractions, hotels, ski resorts and shopping outlets on hand to share their knowledge.”
The California Sales and Media Mission will visit Sydney on Monday 25 August and Brisbane (Trade) and Melbourne (Media) on Tuesday 26 August.
